        Load Order
Currently sorting your load order manually is the recommended way for organizing your mod load order. Atlas's guide, Proper Load Order & You. is the most up-to-date and accurate method for organizing your mod list. Once you have your mod list sorted, backup your mods.cfg file (located in the data folder of your Kenshi game installation), as that is what keeps your load order organized.

The Unofficial Patches for Kenshi (UPK) is intendedto correct issues in vanilla gameplay, and therefore follows the Overwrite Rule as outlined in Atlas's guide. You will want to load this mod near the top of your load order, likely the last to be loaded under [UI, Graphics, Performance],and let it be overwritten by other mods.

For the language module, theUnofficial Patches for Kenshi EN (EN), this module is designed to work separately from the main UPK mod. Since it also isintendedto correct issues in vanilla gameplay, specifically grammar, it also follows the Overwrite Rule. Youwill want to also load this mod higher in your load order, likely under the UPK, and let it be overwritten by other mods:

        [UI, Graphics, Performance]
All other UI, Graphics, Performance Mods
        Unofficial Patches for Kenshi

        Unofficial Patches for Kenshi EN
        [Animations]
        etc.
        Patches
All Patches provided by the UPK only affect UPK values. For example, theUnofficial Patches for Kenshi - Reduced Stones and some Other Foliage Patch doesn't change any values with Reduced Stones and some Other Foliage, it only changes values with the UPK. Therefore, rather than load the patches at the end of your load order as outlined by Atlas, you may instead load them immediately after the UPK:[UI, Graphics, Performance]
        Unofficial Patches for Kenshi
Unofficial Patches for Kenshi - Reduced Stones and some Other Foliage Patch
        [Animations]
        ...
        [Overhauls & Big additions/world changes]

Reduced Stones and some Other Foliage
        [Patches]
        etc.
Mods that Add and Edit Races
Since the UPK utilizes Cattrina's Vanilla Toe Fixand Pocky.exe's Stealth Leg Fix, custom race mods will be incompatible, though playable, if they use the original female foot mesh. A compatibility patch between said custom race mod and Vanilla Toe Fix will be required in order to resolve this issue, or just ignore the mesh bug in favor of playing with your custom race mod.

Some animation, character and race mods will overwrite the Vanilla Toe Fix mesh included in the UPK. If this happens to you, you will need to download Vanilla Toe Fix separately and load it after those mods. While this hasn't been confirmed to be the same case for Stealth Leg Fix, as there are not as many mods that edit Skeleton's legwear, most likely the solution is the same as with Vanilla Toe Fix should an overwrite issue occur.

        Mods that Change Faction Relations
The UPK makes multiple changes to faction relations. If you decide to install the UPK mid-gameplay, these relationship changes will not take effect. You will need to import your existing save in order for your faction relations to be updated.

In the event that importing your save is not an option, usually due to experiencing additional bugs with faction conflicts, I recommend following the solution outlined here:https://www.reddit.com/r/Kenshi/comments/bwmw51/a_rant_on_factions/

If you experience the rare bug in Kenshi after importing a save that causescertain shops, buildings, NPCs, and even enemies to not respawn correctly, Ruhadre has created a mod called Guaranteed Shops that may be able to help fix the issue. Please read their instructions carefully before attempting this method.

        Mods that Add Buildings
New buildings are one of the most common mod types that can lead to compatibility issues. This is partially because all edits made are inside the game, not the FCS. Your best option is to test mods together, go to locations heavily modded by the authors to see if they are compatible or not, and decide which ones to use. Unfortunately, there really is no easy solution to this problem unless a compatibility patch can be found or created (i.e.Unofficial Patches for Kenshi - No Stone Camp Trader's Patch).Mods That Edit Meshes/Textures
Depending on how the mesh/texture fix is implemented by the UPK, some changes may be more incompatible than others. The reason is largely due to whether or not meshes/textures have to be remapped. By default, as long as the file pathing in the mod mirrors the base game, Kenshi will instead read the mod's files. Certain files, however, need to have the FCS point directly to them in order for them to work. Having a proper load order as outlined above should resolve the majority of these issues.Mods that Overhaul Kenshi
Overhaul mods fundamentallychange multiple aspects of Kenshi's gameplay. While the UPK intends to be as compatible as possible with other's content, there inevitably will be issues with some of these mods. Here are the currently known compatible/incompatible mods with the UPK:

        TBD
        Compatible
        • General Modifications (GenMod)- Requires theUnofficial Patches for Kenshi - No Stone Camp Trader's Patch.
        • Kenshi Kaizo
        • Living World (LW)
        • Reactive World (RW) - Requires theRW Distant Townspatch if you want distant towns for RW.

        Not Compatible
        • Kenshi - Genesis- Currently there are no plans for a patch as my computer cannot handle running Genesis.
        • Universal Wasteland Expansion (UWE)- A patch is planned, not a top priority.

        Final Note
If you still have any other questions, feel free to ask me in one of the comment threads either here on Nexus or Steam. I also may have already answered any questions you have in my F.A.Q. article.
